Archana Sarda comes from a design background and is a qualified interior designer. But this time it was more than her regular projects, as this time she was designing a home for herself. She was driven by the need to do something design-oriented, in strict timelines and something that she would call as "Her Space. And the outcome is a warm, stylish and contemporary home.

Archana and her fiance bought the house when it was at the construction stage. This allowed her modify the original layout, which, in turn, made the planning process easier.

The main door of the house opens into the living room. The living room of the house has a contemporary setup. The walls are white and the flooring is done in white vitrified tiles. The most interesting element in the room is the beige wallpaper made of sparkling chips, which appears like wet sea sand stuck on the wall. Another design element in the hall is the dark wenge LCD Panel which runs along the wall and ceiling with wenge wood band with crushed red fabric in the centre of the panel. To add a dash of colour, Archana opted for lime green, lavender, gold and silver cushions on beige upholstered couches.

The elevated floor divides the living room from the dining area. The dining table has a glass top and its chairs are made of beige fabric and same colour is followed on the curtains behind the dining table. To lend an element of interest and a touch of contrast it has brown curtains alongside, that look royal with gold details on it.

The open kitchen concept has been used in the house with grey and white combination of shutters and all the kitchen goods in silver and black colour. The counter of the kitchen is made of white corian marble with seamless joint. The breakfast table next to it is also in white corian and lit up well with concealed and suspended lighting. The kitchen also has a storage cum pooja room which is again done in white marble and has white vitrified flooring.
