Kerala It’s third Information and Technology Park – Koratty Infopark, was recently inaugurated at a function in Thrissur, Kerala. The Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, VS Achuthanandan inaugurated the Phase I of the project. Based on the 'Go Green concept, Infopark Koratty spark is being developed by Infoparks Kerala, an independent society owned by the government of Kerala, on a unique concept - the hub and spoke model, where Kochi, the digital gateway of India, acts as a hub and Koratty as the spoke. This hub and spoke structure facilitates in sharing information faster. The first Infopark in Kerala was established in 2004 in Kochi.
The Phase I of the Koratty project is spread around 40,000sq ft across seven villa/buildings. Infopark Koratty, a non SEZ development, is a breakaway from glass buildings. The colonial heritage villas have been retained and simply renovated to make it functional. The focus of the project is on promoting energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. Siddhartha Bhattacharya, CEO, Infoparks added: "We have incorporated the green building concept in the design of the buildings here to blend with the existing architecture of the place and thus strive to provide a beautiful and inspiring atmosphere for a successful professional life."
The factors that make Koratty Infopark a much sought after destination for the IT/ITES companies are: the National Highway, uninterrupted power, cost-effective reliable infrastructure, single window clearance/services by Infopark and green Kerala-inspired high quality workspace. The Infopark has also access to major talent pool pockets and education and health amenities offering tremendous cost advantage that is sustainable. The park Will house a commercial complex and common utilities such as a restaurant, conference halls, a health club and so on.
